Road Trippin'

After a few hours on the road, it was time for a snack stop.  Dad needed grease for the trailer anyway.  So the girls grabbed some snacky stuff...

Tatum got Takis, which are a spicy lime corn snack, and boy do they stink!  The also burned her mouth, so she was constantly bumming water off everyone.  Within 10 minutes, her fingers were stained red and her siblings were annoyed.

Connor skipped the snacks and read the whole way. He is reading Magie Stiefvater's latest book, and it's a page turner!

About an hour away from camp, Tatum, who is known for getting carsick, started whining.  Not wanting a repeat of Connor's Disneyland pukefest, we pulled over to stretch our legs.  Tatum was obviously not happy.

When we finally arrived in Big Bear, we were starving.  We grabbed a quick bite at a local restaurant, The North Shore Cafe.  It was super yummy!

And after a little bit of food and drink, everyone was happy again.

Across the street was a local park, where we met up with this shady character.  There was actually quite a few funny statues in the park, but this one was a favorite.

So with our spirits substantially raised, we are off to set up camp.
