Big Bear Lake

I had major hiking plans for our first full day at Big Bear Lake, but apparently "the hotel room" was a little too comfy.  At 7:30 am, the kids were still fast asleep.

So after a late start, we decided to take about a mile long hike to the Discovery Center, which is a lot like the visitor's center at Big Bear Lake.

It was about a mile there, but Tatum was not happy to walk it.  I don't know how she will manage our bigger hikes at Sequoia and Yosemite...

She perked up a little bit into the walk, and we got to explore the center a bit.  They even had a marimba for Connor!  Then we headed over to do some alpine slides.

The girls were pretty nervous about it.  They weren't sure about the ski lift up either.  Tatum almost chickened out.

But after the first ride, they were begging for another go!  I think Rylee could have gone down those slides all day long.

We had a great time.  Tatum actually turned out to be a little speed demon!  With that adventure checked off our list, we're on to the next--kayaking!  See ya in a bit!
