We Made It to Pismo Beach!

After 11 long hours, we finally made it to Pismo Beach.  The last 2 hours of the trip got pretty crazy.  Everyone was done with driving, and that seat in the very back of the car is apparently very cramped and uncomfortable.  But we saw some beautiful country, and Justin now knows where he wants to retire.

And this is the view from our hotel balcony.  It's so relaxing, and I think we all agree that it was worth the drive.  After we checked in and unpacked the car, we headed to downtown Pismo Beach.  We were really hoping to see the Pismo Pier, and it was pretty easy to find and very close to our hotel.

So we walked down to the pier and checked out some very cool places in downtown Pismo.  We read all over the travel and food blogs that we had to try Splash Cafe while we were downtown.  It turned out to be very easy to find, but PACKED with people.

I guess it was packed for a reason, because the food smelled really amazing.  So, we ordered our food to go.  Justin and I had the clam chowder, and it was really good.  Of course, the kids had chicken and chips.  And as cool as downtown was, we packed up our food and headed back to the hotel, because the view was just too good to miss.

And so we ate our food on our balcony, all the while chasing away the pesky seagulls waiting around for scraps.  And now the kids are all in their pj's, parked in front of the tv, ready for bed.  Good times.  Can't wait for tomorrow.
