Connor's Bass Conference

We just got back from the International Society of Bassists convention.  Connor's teacher is the chairman of the Suzuki Bass School board, and he was giving a lecture at the convention.  He invited a few of his select students to perform in his lecture.

Connor has been practicing for this conference for a few months now.  It really paid off.  The kids did really well.  It's amazing what these young musicians are playing.  We're having trouble uploading the video, so that will have to wait until we get home.

We're looking forward to seeing what Connor can do in the next few years.  He has an amazing teacher, and he has come so far in the year he's been taking lessons.  We have a feeling he'll be attending these conferences a lot in the future.

There were some great exhibits at the convention.  Some of the premier luthiers were in attendance, and there were some amazing basses.  One was valued at $600,000!  Yikes.

Here he is checking out the selection of bows.  He's got his eye on the $5,500 one.  Yeah, right.

He even got to play an electric string bass.  He had a great time, though, and he gets to go back later tonight to see Gary Karr, one of the best bass players in the world, give a concert to the attendees.

Meanwhile, Uncle Rusty got the short end of the stick.  He had to stay home with these two hooligans and referee the sibling rivalry.  Thanks, Rustyn!  You're the best!
