Day 1 - Stopping for Lunch

So after 5+ hours in the car, and not a single complaint from anyone, we decided to stop for lunch.  Since we are going to be gone for 10 days, we are trying to limit our fast food intake.  So we packed up sandwich stuff and headed to a park off the freeway.

Thanks to the trusty Garmin Nuvi GPS, we found Sycamore Hills Park, not too far off of the CA-60 and had a nice lunch (and a cat nap for Justin).

It was a really pretty little park, and the kids took a much needed stretch break and got some food into their stomachs.

Not even a bit of fighting or whining.  I think I could get used to this...



And after gassing up and grabbing Icees for the kids, we are now back on the road again and headed through L.A. and on to Pismo Beach  It's been a pretty nice trip so far.  Thank goodness for Redbox!  We get a new movie every couple of hours, and it only costs us a dollar.  Pretty sweet, if you ask me.
