Bear Lake, UT

We made it to Bear Lake!  After 6+ hours of driving, playing "Count the Mormon Churches," one supply stop at Wal-Mart, and some construction delays, we finally made it to our final destination.  Bear Lake is in Utah and Idaho--it's a big lake--but we are staying in the Utah portion.  We have the campground to ourselves.  There is NO ONE around.

We got in and set up camp, and the girls immediately ran to the showers.  They were happy to report that the showers were free and warm.  They got cleaned up and we set up camp.

Once we were all showered, we headed into the neighboring town of Garden City for some dinner.  Garden City is famous for their raspberry shakes, so we knew we wanted to try those.

There are several drive-in restaurants in Garden City, but we settled on Quick n' Tasty.  Once we got there, the kids saw how many shake flavors were available, and no one picked raspberry.  We got a caramel, Heath, peanut butter cup, cheesecake, and almond.  They were all delicious!

The burgers and fries weren't bad either, and the kids got to learn all about Utah's love affair with fry sauce.  We got to eat in a covered wagon, which was a little bit strange, but fun.  Then we headed home for our warm trailer and called it a night.  The kids are excited to sleep in tomorrow.  It's going to be a lazy day at the lake.
