Bear Lake - Day 2

We woke up this morning to Dad making us perfect pancakes.  The kids got to sleep in, and we finally woke them up at 10:30 am to eat breakfast.

The kids had decided that they wanted to see Minnetonka Cave across the Idaho border, so we got dressed and headed out.  The cave is about an hour away, but the drive was beautiful.

We have visited a couple of caves before, including Kartchner Caverns, which is a pretty amazing cave.  This cave was quite a bit smaller and didn't have the enormous formations that Kartchner has, but Minnetonka has a more intimate feel to it.  There were some cool formations, and the kids were able to recognize formations they had seen in other caves.

After the cave, we had those yummy shakes from last night on our minds.  We were a little disappointed that no one tried the "famous raspberry shake," so we decided to head back and try one.

This time we tried raspberry, raspberry lime, smores, cookie dough, and peanut butter cup.  They were all fabulous, but the general consensus was that the raspberry was truly the best.  The kids even talked about getting raspberry shakes tomorrow for breakfast.

We had originally planned to go back to camp and head to the lake to rent stand up paddleboards.  Justin has been dying to try them, but it was too windy.  We couldn't take any type of boat out there, so we headed back to our campsite.

Connor pulled out a camp chair and a good book and spent the afternoon reading.

Justin and the girls headed down to the beach for some fun in the water.

They spent a couple of hours down there just goofing off.  They came back to camp wet, but happy.

And I spent the afternoon doing laundry.  With a 15 day road trip scheduled, dirty laundry was inevitable.  We couldn't find a laundromat nearby, so I had to hand wash enough clothes to get us to our next stop.  We head out to the Grand Tetons tomorrow.  We'll check in when we have service...  it may be awhile.
